MHI Crystal Mover
Washington Dulles International Airport APM System
The Washington Dulles International Airport Aerotrain Crystal Mover will connect the airport's Main Terminal with Concourse A, B, and C. The first phase of the project includes a station at the Main Terminal and tunnels that will connect the Terminal to the east and west ends of Concourse B. The master plan of the airport includes an expansion of the Aerotrain system to serve the Main Terminal and a new "South" Terminal, with four permanent midfield concourses in between.
The contract includes the design, engineering, construction, and vehicle delivery as well as operations and maintenance of the new system for five years. Sumitomo Corporation of America (SCOA) is working with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America (MHIA) to supply and build the APM.
